Turkey's New Move: 6th Generation Fighter Projects on the Way

TUSAS General Manager Temel Kotil Makes Important Statements: Indigenous 6th Generation Fighter Jet Projects After KAAN

Following its maiden flight last week, the National Combat Aircraft (MMU) KAAN stands out as one of Turkey's indigenous and national defense industry projects. After this flight, interest in and questions about indigenous 6th generation fighter jets have increased. TUSAS General Manager Temel Kotil made statements on the subject.

Temel Kotil said, "Following KAAN, indigenous 6th generation fighter jet projects are coming, together with Anka-3 and Kızılelma!"

The MMU KAAN stands out as an aircraft in the same class as the F-22 Raptor. It is stated that it has the potential to rival the F-35 with its 4.5 generation status and 5th generation aircraft modernization in the future. The MMU KAAN, which is particularly large in size, has aroused curiosity about 6th generation fighter jet projects.

Initial assessments about the aircraft's dimensions focused particularly on its wingspan and length. With a wingspan of 4 meters and a length of 6 meters, the KAAN is said to have made a big impression next to the F-35. The aircraft is interpreted by some experts as "facilitating the production of 6th generation aircraft thanks to its large size".

TUSAS General Manager Temel Kotil stated that they will focus on the Anka-3 and Kızılelma projects after the KAAN. Following these projects, priority will be given to indigenous 6th generation fighter jet projects.

Turkey's determination in indigenous and national defense industry projects is likely to show itself in 6th generation fighter jet projects as well. These projects, led by TUSAS, will further increase Turkey's power in the aviation and defense industry.
