Boeing Sells Billion-Dollar P-8 Aircraft to Canada and Germany

Boeing has signed multi-billion dollar contracts with Canada and Germany for maritime patrol aircraft. These deals underscore the continued global demand for Boeing's P-8 Poseidon aircraft.
The Royal Canadian Air Force will acquire 14 P-8A Poseidon aircraft to replace its current fleet of CP-140 Auroras. The contract is valued at $3.4 billion and deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2026.

Germany will purchase three additional P-8A Poseidon aircraft to replace its aging fleet of P-3 Orion aircraft. This deal adds to the five P-8 aircraft that Germany previously purchased. The first delivery is expected in 2025.

The P-8 Poseidon is a multi-mission maritime patrol aircraft produced by Boeing. It is an advanced platform capable of performing a variety of missions, including anti-submarine warfare, surface surveillance, intelligence gathering, and targeting.

Canada's and Germany's acquisition of the P-8 Poseidon further solidifies the aircraft's position as the global market leader. The P-8 Poseidon is currently in service with nine countries, including the United States, Australia, India, the United Kingdom, Norway, New Zealand, South Korea, Germany, and Canada.

Boeing is confident that the P-8 Poseidon aircraft will play a vital role in meeting the maritime security needs of Canada and Germany. These aircraft will significantly enhance both countries' ability to protect their maritime borders, conduct search and rescue operations, and counter submarine threats.

The sale of the P-8 Poseidon aircraft strengthens Boeing's position as a leader in the defense and aerospace industry. The company continues to provide advanced aircraft and defense systems to customers around the world.
