A Private Pilot License (PPL) enables an individual to fly as a first or second pilot in non-commercial operations. To obtain this license, candidates must be at least 17 years old, have a clean criminal record, and be free of any medical conditions that would prevent them from flying. The flight training time required for a PPL is 45 hours, excluding the check flight.
