Hybrid Cessna 337 in the Scottish Skies

While the number of electric cars in the world and in our country is increasing day by day, electric motor/hybrid aircraft are also beginning to enter our lives in the field of aviation. A Cessna 337, modified with a hybrid engine by US aerospace technology firm Ampaire, made its maiden flight in northern Scotland on 12 August.

The hybrid-engined aircraft climbed to an altitude of 3,500 feet during the flight, which lasted a total of 5 hours, speeding at an average speed of 120 miles per hour. Amparie officials said the piston-electric hybrid engines developed by the company could reduce aircraft operating costs by up to 25%.
